Types of implant procedure should a tooth be missing
Should teeth be missing in an aesthetic zone, the following categories on which the type of implant procedure depends, must be clarified:
- lack of tooth with a sufficient amount of bone and soft tissue
- lack of tooth with a sufficient amount of bone but a lack of soft tissue
- lack of tooth with an insufficient amount of bone and soft tissue
The type of procedure required to restore the anatomical tissue structures, the smile itself and the patient's self-confidence depends on which group the patient belongs.Each of these groups brings with it great demands and the surgeon's knowledge of different work techniques since there is no single surgical technique that can be applied to all patients.
Lack of tooth with sufficient amount of bone and soft tissue:
It can be said that this is a simpler group because the position of the future implant has a sufficient amount of bone and soft tissue, and no additional procedures are required.In such situations, the installation of a dental implant and the creation of a temporary tooth replacement is immediately approached, and after the healing phase, a definitive tooth replacement made of zircon ceramics is made.
This case represents the most financially advantageous option for the patient because no additional surgical procedures are required and the therapy itself is completed in 3 visits to the dentist.

Lack of tooth with a sufficient amount of bone but lack of soft tissue:
Today's implant procedures, in addition to the functional restoration of teeth, must also satisfy perfect aesthetics, where there should be no difference between the patient’s natural tooth or a replaced tooth positioned on an implant. In such situations, it is necessary to know the techniques of soft tissue transplantation. If we have a lack of soft tissue and a sufficient amount of bone, it is necessary to proceed with soft tissue transplantation procedures during or after implant placement. There are various soft tissue manipulation techniques that depend on the area and volume of missing soft tissue. One of the most commonly used methods is the FGG transplantation of tissue from the palate in the area where the tissue is missing. The method itself is simple and minimally invasive, and significantly improves the final outcome of the implant procedure.Should there be a lack of soft tissue, in addition to the placement of the implant, we also replace the soft tissue, which represents an additional cost and visit for the patient.

Lack of tooth with insufficient amount of bone and soft tissue:
The most demanding situation to restore the function and aesthetics of a natural tooth or teeth to the patient. We usually have to perform more than one operation.First, we start with the replacement of the lost bone, and 4-6 months later, we proceed with the placement of the implant.When placing an implant, it is necessary to transplant soft tissue, and after 3 months we make a temporary tooth replacement with which we shape the tissue. Once satisfied with the appearance of the soft tissue, it is time for the definitive impression and the creation of the final tooth replacement made of zircon ceramics.The most financially and time-consuming option, which depends heavily on the amount of tissue lost.
